Sci-fi short story: "The Seeker"

Digital Dragon is a new sci-fi/fantasy magazine, and I'm pleased to announce that my 1,400 word short story, "The Seeker" is one of the featured stories in their premiere issue.

"The Seeker" Teaser:
A monster from the far reaches of space arrives on Earth searching for one mysterious thing...and he finds a little guide at Lakeview Elementary.

If you decide to give it a read, be forewarned: The magazine gave the story a one sentence teaser, however I'd advise you to skip it, because it's actually misleading.

Digital Dragon is looking for short stories under 1,500 words, that can be enjoyed by all ages, so if you have a story that's on the shorter side, consider giving DD a shot.

You know, I read the story through the first time but never noticed what the creature was searching for till I read it the second time.

Very nicely written, and a very interesting concept.

Hi Asaya,
Thanks for reading the story! You know, I've had to do that to. Sometimes the second time around you're able to take in "clues" better.
(I've also had the cases where I don't get a story AT ALL! But at the same time, I know I'm supposed to get something...that always bums me out when I don't discover what it is.)

I loved the story and shall have to blog about it forthwith. (See, I can spell 'forthwith' without a net.)

I kind of wanted the monster to start eating the kids, though.

Amy,
Wow, thanks so much. For His glory! Thanks for the encouraging words my friend.

Nissa,
Hey! I'm honored your going to blog on the story!!
If you want a story with monsters eating people...try my short story "spineless" published by Ray Gun Revival...I have a feeling it would agree with your sense of humor as well :)

I'm terrible, but I didn't pay attention to the author name when I read that story, and just now noticed here on your blog that it's you! I liked it very much. Digital Dragon looks like it's getting off on a good foot :).

Hey, found DD before the actual 1st issue launch. It *does* look like an up-and-comer. :~)

Beautiful story, Brandon. Just beautiful. I caught it at the star, but then I was once the monster.

Hi Cathi-Lyn,
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your words. I, too, was once the monster.
